Dan Cole, Louis Deacon and Niall Morris are on the three-man shortlist.
Cole played a key role in the Aviva Premiership win over Worcester Warriors at the start of January, coming off the bench to help the Tigers scrum earn two penalty tries, including one late in the game which secured victory.
His performances in Europe, meanwhile, helped Tigers into the Heineken Cup quarter-finals and saw him nominated for the ERC European Player of the Year.
Deacon captained Tigers throughout January and his determined displays helped the team to notable results in difficult conditions.
His towering performance in the European victory over Toulouse at Welford Road won Deacon the Heineken man-of-the-match award and he was also a huge influence in the win at Worcester and the draw away to Ospreys.
Morris has been a standout performer in January after agreeing a new deal during the festive period to stay at Tigers past this season.
He scored a vital try in the draw away to Ospreys and was a constant threat in the win over Toulouse at Welford Road.
