Marcos Ayerza says he's honoured to play 200 games for Leicester Tigers despite the disappointment of the late defeat to Northampton Saints.
Argentina international prop Ayerza became the 90th player in the club’s 134-year history to reach a double century of appearances for Tigers.
The milestone was tinged with disappointment as Tigers went down to a late 23-19 defeat to their near-neighbours at Franklin’s Gardens.
And Ayerza said: “It would have been nice to celebrate the occasion of my 200th game with a win.
“We had a good start, good control but didn’t turn our first-half performance into points which cost us at the end. Their try in the 76th minute hurt, but that is sport.
“We are not far away from where we want to be but we still have some work to do. We are looking forward to having a good week and preparing well for Sale.
“I am happy to reach my 200th game. It’s an honour to be part of Leicester Tigers’ history and hopefully I can carry on adding a bit more and a bit more.”
