With Tigers centres suffering a frustrating run of injury problems, Catchpole made a big impression in a team that went unbeaten through the pool stages of the Anglo-Welsh Cup during 2014/15 and retained his place in the squad for a tough run in the Aviva Premiership.
A year earlier Catchpole had made his Tigers debut in a Cup victory over the Ospreys at Welford Road and won a World Junior Championship with England Under-20s.
He has gained further senior experience during loan spells with Championship sides Nottingham and Doncaster Knights as well as playing in the Premiership Sevens series with Tigers as a teenager.
As a teenager George represented Eastern Counties while at Norwich School and played at North Walsham before joining the Tigers academy.
