The son of former Tigers hooker Troy Thacker, academy graduate Harry enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2015/16, playing in the semi-finals of Aviva Premiership and European Cup.
His score against Northampton Saints was also named Try of the Season in the Premiership Awards, where he was also nominated for the Land Rover Discovery of the Season award. He was a nomination too for LV= Young Player of the Year in the RPA Awards and picked up a Green Flag Forward of the Month award in a campaign which brought 23 appearances and four tries.
Twice named as the club’s Player of the Month in 2015/16, he also picked up the supporters’ Young Player of the Year award for a second time, joined by the prize for Try of the Season and Players’ Young Player of the Year.
Thacker was included in senior company for a first time as an unused replacement in the Anglo-Welsh Cup tie away to Harlequins in 2011/12 and then played all three games as England Under-18s won the European Championship in Madrid, scoring a try in the final win over Ireland.
A member of the Tigers squad that topped the Aviva Premiership Academy Under-18 League in 2012/13, he claimed a hat-trick of tries in the last-round win over Northampton and marked his senior debut with a try against Saracens in November 2012.
