Capped just once by England in 1914, scrum-half George ‘Pedlar’ Wood was a mainstay of the Leicester team for 16 seasons, making 388 appearances for the club either side of the First World War.
He played in four Midland Cup winning teams for Leicester and scored more than 100 tries for the club as well as representing Leicestershire and Midland Counties, and played for the Barbarians in 1915.
