Sydney Mead began playing rugby at 17, representing London Scottish Under-18s.

Demonstrating evident talent, within six months the flanker had been snapped up by Wasps to feature for as part of their development squad.

Making the move north to Midlands neighbours Loughborough, where was studying Psychology / Criminology at University, Mead represented Loughborough University in BUCS Super Rugby before joining Wasps Women ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
