Safeguarding FAQ's
You must be 16 years old to attend without an adult with you. Our stewards may require you to provide proof of age identification to ensure that this is adhered to.
Ideally we would like you to be sat next to the adult that has accompanied you however, if this is not possible, then one row in front or behind is acceptable.
For the safety and comfort of all fans, children are not permitted to sit on shoulders while in the stadium.
All children under 12 must be accompanied to the toilet. This is to ensure their safety. Mattioli Woods Welford Road is a large stadium and it is easy to become disorientated and lost on match day.
Whilst you can be served at the bar with food, your adult should accompany you to the food bar to ensure that you are supervised. Children will not be allowed to exchange plastic beer glasses at the bar.
Whilst you are at Mattioli Woods Welford Road your child is your responsibility, under no circumstances should you leave your child unaccompanied in their seat. In the event of an emergency you should alert the attention of the nearest steward who will assist you.
No. You must always have sight of your child whilst at Mattioli Woods Welford Road. Children can easily become distressed and disorientated on a busy match day. The JTC is not a childcare provision.
Before visiting Mattioli woods Welford please talk to your child about what they should do if they become detached from you. Once inside the stadium, please reiterate the plan you have discussed with your child. Attempt to familiarise your child and yourself with your surroundings. You are welcome to introduce your child to one of our many stewards situated around the stadium. All our stewards are highly trained and happy to discuss our lost child policy.
We encourage all children to wear one of our Leicester Tigers child wrist bands, you can get yours from a number of locations around the stadium, including our designated stand on the plaza, at the JTC, our main reception and from one of the safeguarding stewards. Please write your contact number and seat number on the band as this will allow us to contact you in the unlikely event your child is lost. Please act quickly to alert our stewards if your child is missing. They are best placed to support and reunite you with your child quickly. Please do not panic, the stewards and the wider safeguarding team are there to help you.
If you become separated from your adult, stay calm. Firstly never try to leave the stadium. Go to your nearest steward and tell them that you are lost. If you have chosen to wear one of our Tigers wrist bands, show the steward your band. They are there to help you and will take you back to your seat or wait with you at one of the four corners of the stadium whilst we call your adult.
If you decided not to wear a wrist band don’t worry we will wait with you at one of the four corners of the stadium whilst we find your adult.
