This weekend saw the launch of the first-ever WXV competitions, with Tigers represented by eight players across three sides in WXV 2.
In the second fixture of the competition, Scotland faced South Africa, with five Tigers playing their part in the match.
Four Tigers were involved for Scotland, including summer signing Leah Bartlett, who scored her fifth try for her country with a powerful short range finish, extending the side’s lead just after half time, securing the try bonus point.
On the wing, Francesca McGhie had a well-worked try unfortunately disallowed as the Scots ran out 31-17 winners.
Elis Martin saw action early on when stating hooker Lana Skelton exited for a HIA, the replacement hooker then coming on later in the match. Eva Donaldson, a late call up onto the bench when Sarah Bonar withdrew through injury, also came on toward the end to help Scotland see out the win.
On the South African side, Catha Jacobs came on around 55-60 mins, the versatile lock / back-row a one woman bomb squad.
On Saturday, October 14, three more Tigers were involved as the USA took on Samoa.
Tess Feury started on the wing and ran home a clinical score to begin the second half as the Eagles established a dominant lead.
Tahlia Brody was involved throughout, the dynamic back-row also playing the full 80 minutes, an effective force in the 36-26 victory.
Finally, prop Keia Mae Sagapolu came on after 44 minutes, the young tighthead anchoring the scrum and helping the USA secure the victory.
