Flood is one of four England internationals on the shortlist along with Chris Ashton, James Haskell and Tom Palmer. The shortlist also includes France’s Thierry Dusautoir and Maxime Medard, Sam Warburton and James Hook of Wales, Italy’s Fabio Semenzato and Andrea Masi and Ireland’s Sean O’Brien and Ronan O’Gara.
Last year's award was won by Ireland's Tommy Bowe.
