Scotland international and new Tigers signing, Leah Bartlett joins LTTV to discuss her competitiveness as a child, scoring a try on her international debut, and her decision to move to Mattioli Woods Welford Road, having grown up as Leicester Tigers fan.

“It was quite an easy decision for me to represent the club. I’ve been a Tigers supporter forever and its always been a dream since I was a wee kid to play for Tigers!”

The youngest of 7, Bartlett made her debut for Loughborough Lightning at just 18 years old in the club’s inaugural fixture, following the Premier 15s inception in 2017.

When asked about what she would tell her younger self ahead of the match, Bartlett answered “Just take in the moment, I was very swept up in the stress of being perfect… always thinking about what could go wrong, when actually you could just be like if one thing goes wrong you’ve got a thousand other moments to make up for it.”

Bartlett was called to Scotland in January 2020, and has made 26 appearances since, having scored a try on her debut “It’s up there with one of my best memories, to run out with that team, with people at the time I didn’t particularly know very well, but welcomed me with open arms.”

In this extensive interview Bartlett talks about her thoughts going into her seventh season at the top level, her experience playing rugby in COVID-19 and her personal development. You can watch the full video below.
