International Round-Up | Wills returns and Jones scores stunner

There were mixed fortunes for Leicester Tigers players in the second round of the 2025 Guinness Women's Six Nations.

In the day's opening match, Scotland lost out in a hard-fought battle with hosts France.

Francesca McGhie started the match and was influential despite a score, the wing beating 10 defenders and making 109 metres.

Leah Bartlett emerged from the bench to help the pack muscle over a rolling maul in the dying moments, while Evie Wills also made her long awaited return to international action.

For the first time in 1'128 days, Wills represented Scotland, concluding a monumental comeback that began with her recovery from an ACL tear after first joining Leicester in summer 2023.

Wills featured in all but one of Tigers matches last year and earned a spot back in the international fold - her first action upon taking to the field showcased her hard-hitting style with a typically smashing line in midfield.

In the day's second match, Meg Jones weaved magic once more as she scythed through the Welsh defence to score in front of a record-breaking crowd at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

21'186 people packed themselves into the crowd to mark a new record for a women's sporting event in Wales. However, it was the Red Roses who came out on top, with Jones' wonderful score the second in what would be 11 tries for England.

Jones was included from the off after missing out on the squad that opened the tournament against Italy the week prior, while Amy Cokayne emerged from the replacements to bag half an hour after a try-scoring start last week.

England will now travel to Ireland, while Scotland host Italy before both sides travel to Leicester.

The two sides penultimate game in the tournament will see them both appear at Mattioli Woods Welford Road on Saturday, April 19 when Leicester plays host to the round four match between the Red Roses and Scotland (4.45pm).
