More big screen action at Welford Road

Live television coverage of Saturday's Heineken Cup Final between Leicester Tigers and Leinster will be shown on big screens in two bars at Welford Road.

Due to the large demand from supporters to watch the game at the home of the Guinness Premiership champions, the club will be installing big screens in the Tiger Bar at the clubhouse end of the stadium and also the ABC Bar in the Crumbie Stand.

“We welcomed a large number of supporters at Welford Road to watch the coverage of last week’s Guinness Premiership Final and, due to the added expense of travelling and finding accommodation in Edinburgh, we have had even more interest from fans wanting to come down to watch the match against Leinster,” a Tigers spokesman said.

“With large screens in two bars at Welford Road we hope that many of our supporters who are unable to travel to Edinburgh can come down to their home ground and share in a fantastic occasion.”

The big screens will provide just some of the entertainment at Welford Road this weekend as the stadium hosts the 24-hour Cancer Research UK 24-hour Relay For Life.

Relay For Life involves teams of around 12 members completing laps of the Tigers pitch over a 24-hour period, raising money through sponsorship for Cancer Research UK.

There will also be live music and family entertainment including fairground rides, face painting and games for children as well as raffles, competitions and food stalls.

Donations can be made on the day, or through the website www.donatetomyrelay.org/leicester
