Leicester Tigers trailed East Midlands rivals Northampton Saints 10-6 at half-time of tonight's Guinness Premiership game at Franklin's Gardens.

Saints wing Paul Diggin scored two tries for the home side as they forged a 10-0 lead after 22 minutes.

But Tigers struck back through two penalties from fly-half Toby Flood, who had been recalled to the starting line-up after missing out last week.

His opposite number Stephen Myler had a poor first-half with the boot, missing three penalties and two conversions in front of a sold-out Franklin’s Gardens for the 216th meeting between the sides.

Fijian centre Seru Rabeni replaced Dan Hipkiss, who was ruled out with a hamstring injury, for the game. In the forwards, Ben Herring was named at openside, George Chuter was included at hooker, Marco Wentzel partnered Ben Kay in the second row and Brett Deacon came into the team at No8. Aaron Mauger captained the side with Martin Corry named among the replacements.
