Argentina international prop Facundo Gigena has started work at Leicester Tigers after agreeing a contract with the Aviva Premiership club.
The 23-year-old Gigena has joined his new club colleagues at their Oval Park training base.
Previously capped at three age-group levels, loosehead prop Gigena gained a first Test cap with Argentina during the summer of 2016.
“Facundo scrummages well and he is a young man with a lot of physical and technical growth to come,” said Tigers head coach Matt O’Connor.
“We think he’ll add a bit of depth to our options and we hope he can become a big part of this place going forward.”
Gigena played his domestic club rugby with Tala in Argentina before moving into Super Rugby with the Jaguares. He also played in the Junior World Championships with Argentina Under-20s in 2013 and 2014.
