The Leicester Tigers women’s and girls’ rugby programme took another step forward welcoming rugby players to a trial session at the club's Oval Park Training Ground.
With more than 250 entrants, the session provided a chance for players with all sorts of experience to come along and be introduced to the women's game.
No previous rugby experience was required and the session was open to all adults with a view to not only helping to feed the women's and girls' programme, but also ensure there are further opportunities for women in the sport.
News of the session also attracted local media with BBC East Midlands and BBC Radio Leicester speaking with head of the women’s programme, Vicky Macqueen as well as a few of the trialists.
The marked the first of what the club hopes will be many further trials in the future.
