As Welford Road gears up for its first home game of the new 2019/20 season, we’re sharing some of the new improvements for fans to look out for an experience this campaign.
As stated in the club’s recent reports and accounts, Welford Road attracted the highest aggregate and average attendances in Premiership Rugby with more than 300,000 tickets sold for Tigers’ home fixtures during the 2018/19 season.
With news of the stadium’s move to cashless facilities, fans will notice that a number of their favourite matchday bars have undergone a fresh lick of paint.
Fan favourites the ABC Bar and the Crumbie Lounge have been updated with a modern look as well as being fitted with electronic display menu boards.
The famous framed ‘ABC’ shirts on the wall now include a short history giving fans a background into the bars beginning.
Other bars to have undergone a refurbishment include the newly named Scrum Dogs, Blindside Kitchen and Grubber Pie Co. bars situated along the Mattioli Woods Stand.
The Captains Bar is also available for fans sitting in the Robin Hood Stand as well as The Final Whistle Bar in the lower concourse of the Holland & Barrett Stand.
The Droglites Bar will welcome two current Tigers stars to mingle with fans post-match as well as former Tigers and fans will be able to take advantage of the marquee on the plaza before and after the match.
