Two Leicester Tigers players were involved as Great Britain finished in third place in the 2024 Women's Cup.
Faye West captained the side, while 16-year-old Hayley Cassin was the side's youngest competitor. Both featured extensively throughout the action in Paris.
Club chairman Rob Tarr was the side's head coach for the tournament, where Great Britain started off with a dominant 36-point victory over Ireland on the opening day.
Following up with another strong win a day later, against Spain, the side missed out on a place in the final when defeated in a tight match with an invitational ATC team (made up of representatives from Canada, Japan, South Korea and Switzerland).
Finally, in the Bronze Medal match, the side showed great resilience to bounce back from disappointment and defeat tournament hosts France by just two points, in a high-scoring encounter to claim third place.
"I am incredibly proud to have coached such a young GB squad, one that demonstrated remarkable resilience and maturity throughout the competition." commented head coach Rob Tarr, following the tournament.
"Faye's leadership and experience were instrumental in keeping the team focused, while Hayley's enthusiasm and passion for the game lifted everyone’s spirits.
"Securing the Bronze medal by defeating the French national team on their home turf was an outstanding achievement."
