Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Rugby team continued their incredible winning streak with yet another undefeated weekend.
Their four wins on Sunday, September 3 lead them to claim the WR5's Premiership title, after three rounds of dominant success.
The WR5's is just the latest title for this side, having triumphed in the Fours Premiership in August.
Notable wins include a tight victory over West Country Hawks, demonstrating the team retained their mettle and desire to win despite their extensive success, and, of course, a high-scoring, third straight win over East-Midlands rivals Northampton Saints, following a buzzer beating victory in July and a dominant win in August.
The full set of results are below:
- Leicester Tigers 25 - 7 Bournemouth Lions
- Leicester Tigers 24 - 21 West Country Hawks
- Leicester Tigers 36 - 10 Stoke Mandeville Maulers
- Leicester Tigers 32 - 22 Northampton Saints
Following the team's victory, coach Jamie Stead was delighted with the triumph. "Another fantastic weekend, this team just keeps getting stronger and stronger and we are only going to get better! We are really building something special here as a team. Thank you for all your hard work and effort and the buy-in to what we wanted to achieve as a group.
"I couldn’t be any more proud of each and everyone of the team and how much you have progressed as individuals and a collective. You are all well deserved champions! You smashed every team this season. Enjoy being the best WR5s Team in Great Britain and in Europe, you deserve it".
