A young Tigers XV were defeated 40-17 by Nottingham Rugby in a development fixture at Lady Bay on Friday night.

The Tigers side included a host of youngsters alongside a handful of players to have featured in senior appearances for the club.

First half tries to Archie Vanes and Charlie Davies meant it was two points, 14-12, separating the sides at the break, before Tigers took the lead in the early stages of the second half with James Cleland crossing for the third.

However, the more experienced Championship outfit added four more scores in the second half run away with the game and register a 23-point, 40-17, win in front of their home supporters.
