Senior Academy trio sign new deals

Leicester Tigers are excited to announce Charlie Myall, Archie van der Flier and Samuel Williams have signed new deals with the club.

The Senior Academy trio have all made senior appearances for the club so far this season while also continuing their development with Performance Partnership club, Nottingham Rugby.

Myall, 19, made his debut against Bedford Blues in the 23/24 Premiership Rugby Cup, the rapid centre having joined Tigers from Wasps. He was part of England Under-20s extended squad in last year’s Six Nations and has represented his country at Under-18s and Under-19s level previously.

22-year-old loosehead prop van der Flier has already made 30 appearances for Nottingham in three seasons in the Championship, being nominated for the Archers 23/24 Player of the Season.

Born and raised in Nottingham, Williams, 19, joined Tigers through the Development Pathways Programme, and made his senior debut against Northampton Saints earlier this season. The flanker was due to be part of England’s Six Nations squad but was forced to withdraw through injury.

Leicester Tigers General Manager, Richard Wilks said: “I’m delighted for Charlie, Archie and Samuel.”

“All three are outstanding young men who are developing well in our programme.

“Credit must of course go to the lads and their families but also to our academy staff and our performance partners at Nottingham Rugby who have played a key role in how they have nurtured their ability to this point.

“All three have got top-quality senior, international players at the club to learn from but also to push. That’s crucial, and the opportunity now exists for them to make the next step in their careers at Leicester Tigers.”
