Chance to say farewell to Marcos

Marcos Ayerza
Marcos Ayerza
Marcos Ayerza will lead the traditional lap by the Leicester Tigers players at the final home game of the season at Welford Road on Saturday.

Loosehead prop Ayerza joined the club from amateur rugby in Argentina in 2006 and made the last of 246 appearances for the club this season before announcing his retirement this month. A four-time Premiership winner with the club, he is a past winner of the supporters' Outstanding Service award and Player of the Year. He was capped 66 times by the Pumas, including appearances in three World Cup tournaments.

Ayerza will lead the traditional lap by the Tigers playing squad after the final whistle of Saturday’s home game against Sale Sharks.

After the lap, Tigers host a series of fixtures for mini rugby teams from local grassroots clubs. Supporters are, therefore, asked to keep off the pitch this week.

Tickets for Saturday’s game are still available at the Tigers ticket office. Book in person at Welford Road, phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or book online by clicking here.

See Saturday's matchday programme for a collection of fan tributes to Marcos and his Tigers career. Available around the stadium, the 100-page match programme is £3..
