Former Leicester Tigers player, coach and director of rugby Richard Cockerill has joined the England coaching staff.
National coach Eddie Jones has finalised his coaching set-up with the appointments of Cockerill and Anthony Seibold.
Cockerill, who won 27 caps while playing more than 250 times for Tigers, joins as a forwards coach and will work alongside Matt Proudfoot.
He was Leicester head coach from 2009 and won three Premiership titles before spells at Toulon and Edinburgh.
Seibold has been appointed as England defence coach. He was previously head coach of the Brisbane Broncos and South Sydney Rabbitohs as well as working with Manly Sea Eagles, Melbourne Storm and Queensland.
The coaching team will first work together with the England squad later this month ahead of Test matches in the autumn against Tonga, Australia and South Africa.
Jones said: “We’re two years from the World Cup so we wanted to freshen up our coaching team and get the right people in place for where we want to go, which is to win the World Cup.
“We’ve added Richard to the team to work with Matt to create a dominant forward pack. He’s a former England player, has great coaching experience and comes in as a well-rounded, mature, driven English coach.
“Anthony is a coach that I have had a relationship with since 2019 and have followed his career closely.”
