Leicester Tigers have agreed a new deal with back-rower Hanro Liebenberg.
The South African forward joined Tigers ahead of the 2019/20 season as a hard-working loose-forward capable of playing across the back-row and has quickly become a fan-favourite at Welford Road for his no-nonsense style of play and tough approach to the game.
The 24-year-old arrived from the Bulls in Super Rugby, where he made more than 40 appearances during four seasons, and spent time on loan at Stade Francais in the 2018/19 season.
Liebenberg captained South Africa Under-20s in 2015 at the Junior World Cup.
Speaking about the renewed deal, Leicester Tigers Director of Rugby Geordan Murphy said: “Hanro hit the ground running this season and quickly established himself as an important part of our club, moving forward.
“He wants to be a Tigers player and believes in what we are building here at the club, which he has bought into after less than a season.
“Hanro has earned an extension on his deal and we are confident he can play a bigger role moving forward if he continues in the way his Tigers career has begun.
“We want players committed to the hard work and high standards we demand, on and off the pitch, and Hanro is an example of all those things in all that he does.”
