Voting is now open for the Goldsmiths Player of the Month for October with Seremaia Bai, Fraser Balmain and Mike Williams on the three-man shortlist.Voting is now open on the Goldsmiths Facebook page. Click here to place your vote.
The Tigers trio will be looking to follow scrum-half Sam Harrison, who won the supporters vote for September’s award.
Bai’s experience was invaluable during pre-season and the opening Aviva Premiership game as Tigers bedded new and youthful faces into the team. The Fiji internationals was on the scoresheet in the Kings of the North win at Kingston Park and has had a creative hand in a number of tries including those for Mathew Tait against Newcastle and Peter Betham against Sale Sharks at Welford Road.
In the Rugby World Cup absence of Dan Cole, Balmain has put his hands up with a series of solid displays in the Leicester Tigers front row, anchoring the scrum to good effect against London Irish and Harlequins on the opening Aviva Premiership weekends, and against the renowned scrummaging power of Los Pumas in the Marcos Ayerza Testimonial Challenge.
Williams, meanwhile, has made an instant impact since his summer arrival at Welford Road with some big hits, some big carries and a try in the Kings of the North win against Newcastle Falcons at Welford Road. Williams has also shown his versatility in his first appearances for the club, playing in both the back row and the second row.
The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.
