The Leicester Tigers pitch provided grounds for debate this year but already the green shoots of recovery can be seen as club groundstaff get it ready for the 2015/16 campaign.Less than a week after the seeds were sown, the first blades of grass are sprouting up at Welford Road.
Indeed, there is already more grass on the problematic area of the pitch in front of the Holland & Barrett Stand than for parts of the last season!
And fans can literally watch the grass grow via the club webcams by clicking here.
Supporters will get their first look at the new surface when Welford Road hosts the Marcos Ayerza Testimonial Challenge between the Tigers and Los Pumas on Saturday, September 5 (3pm), and the Kings of the North fixtures against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday, September 19 and Sale Sharks on Saturday, October 10 (both 3pm).
Entry to Kings of the North home fixtures is included in Tigers season tickets. For more information on booking your place with a season ticket click here.
Match tickets for the Kings of the North home fixtures are due to go on general sale soon.
Tickets for the Marcos Ayerza fixture are available now from the Tigers ticket office which is located inside the Club Store in the corner of the MET-RX Stand at the stadium. The office is open 8.30am-5pm weekdays and 9am-5pm every Saturday. Call in, phone the hotline on 0116 319 8888 (option 2), or book online any time by clicking here.
The Aviva Premiership season kicks off on the weekend of October 17/18. Fixtures are due to be announced on Friday, July 3.
