Gates to Mattioli Woods Welford Road re-open this weekend with all four stands open for the first time in 18 months and Leicester Tigers are asking for the assistance of supporters in making this day a big day for everyone.
It has taken a huge amount of work to get this far with changes around the stadium since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 while the club also acknowledges it is going to take time for everyone to get back up to speed, with new facilities, guidelines and staff in place as the season begins this Saturday. Please help us to help you by taking a look at the information below and in the Matchday Guide on the website ahead of matchday.
We look forward to seeing you!
Please be patient
We appeal to supporters for their patience and co-operation as well as their passionate backing from the stands as the turnstiles, bars, kiosks, shop and ticket units, and hospitality suites open their doors again.
Bar & catering staff
In common with the hospitality industry around the country, stadium caterers have had to recruit a new workforce and we ask that supporters please bear in mind that many staff are new to their roles.
There are still opportunities to join the matchday catering team in time for this weekend. If you or someone you know has bar or catering experience, click this link to find out more about working on a Tigers matchday.
Arrive in good time
Turnstiles, bars and food outlets are open from 1.30pm and supporters are encouraged to come early as everyone gets back into their matchday routines after the long absence.
Supporters are reminded that Tigers operates cashless payments only in bars and food outlets.
Tickets
Season tickets from 2020/21 were transferred to this season and games have been loaded on to existing cards. Only supporters who moved seats or category require new cards and they are being contacted separately by the ticket office and will receive e-tickets for this match to either print at home or scan on your smartphone at the turnstiles.
Match tickets are on general sale now. Book online or phone the ticket office team on 0116 319 8888 (option 2). Places are also available on matchday bus services from Loughborough, Market Bosworth, Market Harborough and Oakham, but must be booked in advance. See the website for details.
Breedon Stand entry & exit
Please note that the ABC/Crumbie bars in the Breedon Stand are not open to the public for this game as they are retained within the Red Zone as areas for the teams.
There are some restrictions on movement within the Breedon Stand so please follow the instructions of stewards and signage in this area. Details have been emailed to Breedon Stand ticket holders to ensure you enter and exit the stadium at the correct point to avoid crossing or gathering in the tunnel area.
Breedon Stand ticket holders in Block O, P, Q, R and S must use turnstiles 25-32 towards the Aylestone Road end (where the Breedon Stand meets the Beehive Money Stand) and ticket holders in Block J, K, L, M and N enter at turnstiles 17-24 at the Welford Road end.
Ahead of kick-off
We also ask that supporters make their way to the in seats inside the stadium in good time ahead of kick-off as there is a tribute planned to all those who have been lost during the period of the pandemic and to acknowledge the ongoing commitment of key workers.
Post-match
After the game, Final Whistle and Droglites will remain open, with resident band Rock Bottom providing the entertainment.
