Amy Cokayne loves Yorkshire Tea.
The 72-cap Red Rose, the World Cup star, the Premiership winner and one of, if not the, best hookers in the world, Cokayne sits down with LTTV to discuss her career thus far, the decision to move to Leicester Tigers and her drink and snack of choice while watching the rugby.
"Yes I do (love a biscuit and a brew)! I've recently been converted to the Yorkshire Tea biscuits. It tastes like someone has already dunked the biscuit in the tea".
"At the World Cup, Emily Scarrett had them and she was my roommate in New Zealand and she didn't have any normal tea and I had drank all of mine so I was converted to them"
A true prodigy in rugby, the front-row made her England debut in 2015, going onto start every game in the 2017 Rugby World Cup at just 21 years old as England made the final. When asked about what she would tell her younger self, going into the tournament in Ireland, Cokayne responded "It's a bit of a cliché but, figuring out what works for you personally. Whether that's in terms of training, nutrition, all the 1% marginal gains that people talk about like using the best pillow for sleeping or ideal room temperature or what works best for recovery or a certain exercise in the gym will get the best out of me.
"When you're young and someone tells you to do something, you don't often challenge it or adapt it to best suit you but, there's more than one correct way to do things."
"So understanding myself personally and how to get the best out of myself"
In this interview, Cokayne talks about how she grew up ready to compete, the evolution of her international career and her favourite biscuit for that classic Yorkshire Tea. You can watch the full video below.
