This week’s Aviva Premiership showdown between Leicester Tigers and Newcastle Falcons will set a Friday night attendance record at Welford Road, but there are still tickets available.
Ticket sales have already surpassed the previous best mark for a Friday evening fixture in league or cups at the venue – held by the 21,000-plus who saw a victory over Harlequins in October 2014 – and demand for tickets is still strong for the final home game of the Premiership season. Only the 24,000 attendance for the historic win over South Africa has been higher for a Friday evening fixture at Welford Road.
Tigers welcomed successive sell-outs against Wasps and Northampton Saints in the previous two home games and interest remains strong with so much still to play for in the final two rounds of the league programme.
Both Tigers and Falcons are among the eight teams in the contest for top-six places which bring qualification for the European Champions Cup and also in the pack of five fighting for a slot in the Premiership semi-finals alongside Exeter Chiefs and Saracens.
Remaining tickets for Friday evening are available now at the Tigers ticket office. Book in person at Welford Road, phone the hotline on 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or book online. A print-at-home service is available on online purchases, or collect tickets on your way to the game.
Season ticket holders who are unable to attend a fixture at Welford Road can transfer their ticket to a friend or family member using the club’s dedicated hub or make their place available using the Buybacks scheme. See the ticket section of the website for more details.
With a big crowd in prospect and an evening kick-off, all supporters are urged to allow extra time for their journey and entry to the stadium with bag searches in operation at the turnstiles.
Turnstiles, stadium bars and food kiosks open at 6.15pm.
