Another busy match day for the JTC with plenty of enthusiastic fans coming on to cheer on Tigers who drew 21-21 to Saracens.
The Tigers v. Saracens game was very special for our JTC as AVIVA ran an exclusive mascot competition which saw 12 lucky winners take on our match day mascot experience ahead of kick-off. Sophie Ludlam, Jack Wardle, Oliver Lydon, Tyler Waterman, Charlotte Lewis, Toby Swann, Archie Ludlow, Benny Sackfield, Isobel Westerman, Bethany Westerman, Jayden Kennedy and Max Connor were announced over the booming tanoy as they ran onto the pitch at Welford Road, welcomed by a big scored of almost 22,000! They were then joined by Brad Thorn and Mathew Tait for a photograph on the pitch.
We also had Aniseko Sio and Riccardo Brugnara join us in the JTC VIP Area for the first time this season, and their appearance did not disappoint! JTC members came up with interesting questions for our Q&A session and Aniseko and Riccardo, who both moved to England to play for Leicester Tigers, were entertaining and funny! We learned how important it is for rugby players to eat properly throughout the day to get plenty of nutrition, and Riccardo told us pasta is his favourite meal!
This match day’s Challenge Welford was the balloon blaster game which we gave JTC members the chance to practice on outside the JTC Area. We had plenty of Tigers fans try to pump up a balloon until it popped as fast as possible! In the end, John Heywood was the lucky winner of our Challenge Welford draw and he came onto the pitch at half time to compete head to head against Welford. It was a very tight race, but Welford burst into action in the last few seconds, winning with the smallest of margins. Well done Welford for your first Challenge Welford win!
The next match is Tigers v. Wasps on Saturday, November 29, make sure you come visit us in the JTC VIP area for more fun and games.
See you soon
