Joe Batley speaks to LTTV's guest reporter, Ellis Genge, following the squad's final training session at Welford Road in preparation for Sunday's showdown with Cardiff Blues.
Batley, who joined the club on loan from Bristol in December, will make his senior debut for Leicester in the European Challenge Cup fixture after impressing in recent Premiership Rugby Shield outing for the Tigers Development Squad.
The 23-year-old is a former team-mate of Genge's from Hartpury College and, ahead of their first outing together in Tigers colours, told the 'Baby Rhino' of his excitement ahead of his first starting appearance in a senior fixture for Leicester.
"I'm excited, it has been a good week," Batley said.
"I'm looking forward to getting out there and showing what I can do."
Genge, who also began his Tigers career on a loan spell from Bristol, pressed Batley on what differences and challenges he had encountered since making the move to the East Midlands club.
"Both of them are professional, it hasn't been too much of a difference," he told Genge.
"It's just been getting use to the different terminology and language people use for the calls.
"Everyone has been real welcoming here so it has been easy to fit in."
Batley also told his good friend and now Tigers team-mate that there will be plenty of family in the Welford Road stands for his debut game in the green, red and white.
"I've got my whole family, it's nice," he said.
"It'll be nice for them to come up and watch me."
A "proud" Genge closed out the interview with a short-and-sweet 'pep talk' for Batley.
"I'm really proud of you," said Genge.
"You've made excellent progress."
