Two young Leicester Tigers fans have the chance to lead the team on to the pitch at every home game.
For Sunday’s match against defending Gallagher Premiership champions Saracens, the honour went to Elijah McArdle and Charlotte Lewis, who are both members of the Junior Tigers Club.
They soaked up the pre-match atmosphere from pitchside before joining captain Callum Green to lead out the team ahead of kick-off.
Both fans also received a full Tigers kit as well as a signed photo of their memorable moment on the pitch with the team captain and club mascot Welford.
Just before kick-off, Elijah said: “I found out about two days ago when my mum told me and I’m really excited about this but really nervous at the same time.”
Charlotte added: “I found out a few minutes ago and I feel nervous, excited.”
Any young supporter can become a matchday mascot by joining the Junior Tigers Club, which provides pre-match activities for young supporters at every home game. The Tigers matchday mascot package includes:
- Leicester Tigers mascot home shirt, shorts and socks
- Running out with the players in front of the Welford Road crowd
- Print of your official photograph taken on the pitch with the team captain and mascot Welford, signed by the captain
- Photo in the matchday programme
