The Droglites Bar at Welford Road is where many a former Tiger can be found on matchdays and at this weekend’s fixture against Exeter Chiefs (April 6, 4.30pm), fans will be able to have a beer with members of the current squad as well as those from past seasons.
Situated in the Mattioli Woods Stand, The Droglites Bar pays homage to the heritage of Leicester Tigers and current players Greg Bateman and Adam Thompstone will be joining the likes of former Tigers Steve Kenney, Steve Redfern and Steve Hackney in the bar after the Exeter fixture.
Fans will be able to take advantage of a limited number of ‘free pint’ vouchers handed out by the Tigers in The Droglites Bar.
The Droglites (which is an anagram of Old Tigers) is the unofficial name given to members of Tigers Past Player Association and was officially formed in 1995.
Since then, former Tigers have enjoyed golf days, charity rugby matches, fundraisers and socials and even worked behind The Droglites Bar at Welford Road ‘back in the day’. It wasn’t unfamiliar to have a pint served to your by your Tigers hero.
If you haven’t been to The Droglites Bar before, be sure to pop in – you never know who you may end up bumping into.
There will also be additional tables and seating made available in the ABC Bar and Crumbie Bar in The Breedon Stand after the full-time whistle.
