Leicester Tigers legends Garry Adey, Marcos Ayerza, Paul Dodge and John Liley have joined the guest list for the club’s 125 Dinner at Welford Road next month.
The 125 Dinner at the stadium takes place on Tuesday, March 6 with a string of famous names already revealed including Martin Johnson, Neil Back, Austin Healey, Graham Rowntree and Peter Wheeler.
Now we can confirm that they will be joined by former forwards Adey and Ayerza, centre Dodge and full-back Liley.
Garry Adey stands ninth in the Tigers all-time appearance list and made his name as an industrious No8. He made 381 first-team appearances and later became a director, president and life member of the club.
Loosehead prop Marcos Ayerza made his debut in 2006 after playing amateur rugby in Argentina and built a reputation as one of the most respected props in the game. Making nearly 250 appearances in a Tigers shirt, Marcos helped the club to win eight trophies before his retirement in 2016.
Highly regarded by legends of the game, Paul Dodge was one of rugby’s finest centres. Tall and powerful, he came through youth team rugby to provide a big influence at Tigers over nearly two decades, becoming only the fifth player to pass 400 appearances for the club.
Full-back John Liley broke records with his kicking ability and, in his nine seasons, scored more than 2,500 points in 230 first-team appearances, following in the footsteps of the great ‘Dusty’ Hare.
Sponsored by vehicle management specialists Total Motion, the 125 Dinner will feature a three-course meal and interviews with Tigers legends as well as an auction in support of the Doddie Weir Trust.
Places are £115 per person plus VAT or a table of 10 with a current Tigers player can be reserved for £1,500 plus VAT.
