Ollie Smith has signed a new contract at Leicester Tigers.
The 24-year-old England international agreed terms on a new deal at Welford Road and said: "I have been here nearly seven years and now I am looking forward to a good summer ahead of the new campaign.
"I have had a couple of injuries this year and, with Aaron Mauger and Ayoola Erinle coming here next season, it is a case of proving myself again."
Smith has just passed the 150-game mark as a Tigers player since making his debut soon after his 18th birthday back in August 2000 and has so far scored 34 tries for Tigers. The Leicester-born centre has five England caps and toured with the British & Irish Lions in 2005.
Tigers departing head coach Pat Howard said: "Ollie is a great young player who has come through the ranks at his local club. He has already achieved a lot in the game and we think there is still more to come. We are therefore obviously pleased he has signed a new contract."
