Leicester Tigers supporters based in Market Harborough, Oakham and Market Bosworth will be able to take advantage of a one-off bus service to and from Welford Road at this weekend’s Premiership Rugby Cup fixture against Northampton Saints.
Derby Day returns to Welford Road on Saturday, October 12 (kick-of 3.00pm) and following the news that club would not be able to operate its Centrebus routes for the 2019/20 season, the club has worked to provide an alternative for fans from these areas.
The T1 service from Market Harborough, the T2 service from Oakham and T4 service from Market Bosworth will be operated by Orbit coaches arriving at Welford Road for 2.30pm.
Customers with a 2019/20 season ticket or match ticket will be able to pre-book their return ticket for a cost of just 1p for this weekend’s match, with a view to the club continuing the trial and identifying the necessary costs up until Tigers’ Challenge Cup home game against Pau on November 16.

Chris Rose, head of brand at Leicester Tigers, said “We understand that travel to and from Welford Road is one of the challenges our supporters have to overcome particularly when kick-off times change from Saturday afternoon.
“We want to offer our bus services for the long term, and if we are able to make them a success to expand the initiative to other routes.”
