Wigglesworth previews return to league

Richard Wigglesworth says all eyes are on Exeter Chiefs ahead of his side's return to action in the league on Sunday afternoon.

With two-thirds of the Gallagher Premiership sides still playing for a place in this season's knockouts and fresh off the European campaign coming to an end, following defeat to Leinster in Dublin last Friday, there are plenty of things happening around Leicester Tigers.

However, the Head Coach is adamant - as always - it's full focus on the next job.

"We know how tight this league season is and definitely know that, against a side of Exeter's quality, we are going to have to be at our best for the entire game to try and get a result," said Wigglesworth.

"There is plenty of talk about what could happen and we understand that. But, there is only one game that matters right now - Exeter on Sunday afternoon."

"Nothing else past this weekend's fixture matters, we just need to get the preparation right this week and fly into this game. After that, we look at what's next and not before."

Exeter Chiefs come into the Gallagher Premiership fixture having won their way through the Heineken Champions Cup semi-finals and Wigglesworth knows the level of "class" who will occupy the away room at Mattioli Woods Welford Road on Sunday.

Speaking about Sunday's opponents, he said: "They are a team in good form, who are coming to Mattioli Woods Welford Road this weekend on the back of two impressive results against big teams."

"It's a group that has achieved a lot together and you just have to look at their squad to see the class and the experience they have throughout, who have been successful together."

Meanwhile, discussing his own side and the start to their training week, he added: "The lads came in bouncing this week, ready to work, as ever."

"I said after the game on Friday that this is a special group and their response to that result and willingness to get straight into this week, straight into the challenge of playing Exeter, shows what they are about."
