Leicester Tigers take on Ampthill Rugby on Sunday afternoon in what will be an inaugural meeting between the two clubs who were founded just one year apart.

The Bedfordshire club will be the second Championship, and third overall, opponent for Leicester in this season's Premiership Rugby Cup.

Dan McKellar's side come into the game on the back of successive victories, 50-6 against Caldy RFC at Mattioli Woods Welford Road in Round 1 and 14-18 away to Sale in Round 2, while Ampthill are yet to record a win in the Cup after facing Newcastle Falcons and Caldy in the opening fortnight.

Ampthill, who will become the 232nd opponent to play Tigers at Mattioli Woods Welford Road since 1892, are approaching their fifth season as part of the RFU Championship after gaining promotion to the second tier ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
