West Park have four former players currently in the England squad at the World Cup in New Zealand and finished in third place in the Championship North last season. After a narrow defeat at local rivals Barnsley in Round 1, they bounced back with victory over Bishop Auckland but were beaten at defending champions Cheltenham last time out.

Previewing Saturday’s game, Vicky Macqueen, head of the Tigers women’s programme, said: “We’ve made a decent start in terms of performances and results, and the intensity and workrate have been good, but the really pleasing part is that with every game the team have improved in some areas and the whole squad keeps looking to get better.

“The players come into training and are very keen to correct any errors rather than dwell on their last game, and that’s great. They’re managing that very well. That message about development is reinforced for every game.”

There will be updates on the women’s match on the Tigers website and social media, with report and reaction afterwards.

Kick-off at The Sycamores, Bramhope (Leeds LS16 9JR) is at 3.00pm as the second half of a double bill, with West Park hosting their men’s second-team game against Wetherby at 1.30pm.

Tigers return to home territory in Round 5 on Saturday, November 5 as part of an historic double header at Mattioli Woods Welford Road with the men's team hosting an Italian Select XV. Entry is included in season tickets. Match tickets are also available now. Click here for more details.
