Leicester Tigers will launch another season of European rugby with a trip to face Ulster in October before welcoming the Scarlets to Welford Road in the opening home game of the Heineken Champions Cup campaign.
Two-time winners of European rugby’s top prize, Tigers open the club’s 22nd season in the continent’s elite tournament with a trip to Belfast to face Ulster Rugby on Saturday, October 13 (5.30pm) and then host the Scarlets for a Friday evening fixture at Welford Road on October 19 (7.45pm).
Tournament organisers EPCR have today revealed confirmed kick-off dates and times for all fixtures in the pool stages of the new season following discussion with their broadcast partners and the clubs.
Racing 92 are the Tigers’ Pool 4 opponents in back-to-back fixtures in the build-up to Christmas, with the first leg at the French club’s new home in the La Defense Arena, Paris on December 9 and the return at Welford Road on Sunday, December 16 (1.00pm).
The final two rounds of the pool stages are in the new year and feature a trip to Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli and then the return fixture against Ulster Rugby at Welford Road in Round 6 on Saturday, January 19.
