Jasper Wiese was at his barnstorming best for South Africa in their victory over Australia in Round 4 of the 2022 Rugby Championship.

After missing the Round 3 defeat to the Wallabies, the Leicester Tigers back-rower started at No8 for the Springboks in Sydney and provided a solid platform for his countrymen through a strong display in attack and defence.

Wiese made 11 carries, beating 4 defenders on separate occasions, in 60 minutes on the pitch for the 'Boks in their 16-point, 8-24 away win.

Earlier, fellow Tigers forward Julián Montoya and his Argentine team-mates were defeated 53-3 by a resurgent New Zealand side in Hamilton.

The Leicester team-mates face-off in a fortnight when Los Pumas host the Springboks in at Estadio José Amalfitani in Round 5 before travelling to South Africa in the final round.
