Leicester Tigers are leading the way as the first club in Premiership Rugby to have a full-time dedicated safeguarding lead, driving practices to keep everyone safe.
Safeguarding at Leicester Tigers is more than a box-ticking exercise. Tigers stand by the principle that safeguarding is everybody’s business. We encourage staff, volunteers and the wider Tigers Family to accept the challenge and collective responsibility to protect everyone’s safety.
The best way to protect children and at-risk adults is to create a culture where safeguarding is a priority and everyone strives for best practice.
The club’s safeguarding team has completed an extensive review of processes and practices to develop an EYES WIDE OPEN ethos – we want everyone to be alert and vigilant, placing safeguarding at the heart of our business.
There has been significant activity across the club to ensure that anyone displaying the Tigers brand is both educated and supported in our safeguarding policies.
The safeguarding team will have a visible presence at the stadium, where there have been changes to some matchday operations, and we will continue to learn and develop to ensure every member of the Tigers Family feels safe in our company.
There is further information on the club’s approach to safeguarding around the stadium at Mattioli Woods Welford Road and on the Tigers website, and we ask that everyone in the Tigers Family keeps their ‘eyes wide open’.
