Safety first | Rugby Camps on hold this summer

In the uncertainty around the next steps in combating the Coronavirus and the suspension of junior rugby, Leicester Tigers have made the decision to cancel this summer’s Tigers Rugby Camps.

For young players across the region, Tigers Rugby Camps are among the highlights of the school summer holidays, with coaching direct from the club’s successful academy programme and a chance to make new friends in a fun but professional environment.

In current circumstances, however, the decision has been taken to cancel the summer programme in the interest of the safety and welfare of all coaches, staff and young players.

It is obviously disappointing to face a summer without the attraction of the Tigers Rugby Camps but we believe this is the appropriate course of action in these unprecedented times and the decision has been taken now to help parents by taking away some of the uncertainty around planning for the summer.

The Tigers community team are already looking at plans for the return of Rugby Camps and will be looking to get out into the community again whenever the green light to do so is received.

For any family who booked a place for the original dates and venues across the region this summer, including the residential camp at Bishop Burton College, a Tigers representative will be in contact in the next few days.
