Saxons appear at Welford Rd

Figure image
England Saxons made their first appearance at Welford Road last Saturday, ahead of their clash with Ireland A at the same venue on February 1 (kick-off 7.45pm).

This time, it wasn’t the Saxons players who took the field in front of a sell-out crowd – it was the Saxons mascot, in full, traditional (albeit lightweight) armour.

The Saxons will be hoping for a better performance against their Irish counterparts however, as the mascot fell to an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Leicester Tiger, our very own club mascot.

The two mascots raced across a wet Welford Road pitch at the Heineken Cup match against Toulouse, with Leicester Tiger taking the honours.

Tickets for the England Saxons vs Ireland A fixture – the first international A level match to be played at Welford Road in a decade – are on sale now from the Tigers ticket office.

Call 08701 28 34 30, pop down to the Welford Road ticket office, or visit the tickets section of this website.

Why not take advantage of this Tuesday’s 12th Day of Christmas special offer, which entitles you to buy one get one free on all England Saxons vs Ireland A tickets bought on December 18? (NBThis offer is not available online.)
