Leamington RFC is the host club and nearly 100 players have already signed up, but there is still availability in the under-13, 14, and 15 age-groups.
Already this summer 1,000 youngsters have joined Tigers Rugby Courses, while George Skivington, Ed Slater and Boris Stankovich are among the first-team players who have dropped in to monitor their progress and talk about life as professionals.
Tigers Rugby Courses are supported by energy efficiency specialists Mark Group and offer coaching in all aspects of the game with ideas passed on from the senior and academy squads under the watchful eyes of head coaches including former Tigers captain Ian ‘Dosser’ Smith, double European Cup winner Glenn Gelderbloom and former Tigers hooker Troy Thacker.
“These courses always combine good coaching with some good fun, and it’s great to be able to welcome senior players who meet the youngsters and share their thoughts on being a professional player,” says Tigers community manager Scott Clarke.
“We receive some excellent feedback from young players and their families, and we seek to improve the course programme every season.”
Each course includes:
• Coaching from Tigers’ top qualified coaches from 9.30am-3.30pm each day.
• Free junior ticket to an allocated home game at Welford Road.
• Hot lunch and drinks each day
• Tigers Rugby Course T-shirt, rugby ball and drinks bottle
• Full-time first-aider present at all courses
• Free membership to the Junior Tigers Club
The four-day course at Leamington costs £125. Phone the Tigers community department on 0116 2171 221 to reserve your place or book online at www.leicestertigers.com/community.courses
