Leicester Tigers have agreed a new deal with Harry Simmons.
The outside-back has made 29 appearances for the club since his debut in November 2017.
Norfolk-born Simmons played his junior club rugby with Holt RFC before joining the Tigers Academy, which he graduated from ahead of the 2016/17 season.
In his second season of senior rugby, he was voted Young Player of the Year by his teammates.
Simmons spent the 2021/22 season on loan with Championship Club Jersey Reds before returning to Tigers ahead of the current campaign.
Speaking about the renewal, Leicester Tigers Head Coach Richard Wigglesworth said: “I am delighted for Harry in securing a new deal.”
“In recent weeks he has shown everyone what we all knew he was capable of and have seen him put out on the training pitch every week.
“He possesses electric pace and incredible footwork but is equally as strong in defence and is such a brave defender who offers the side so much.
“He has worked so hard to get back fit and forced his way in to the side through his performances at training and now in games. I am excited to see what is to come for Harry.”
Discussing the new deal, Simmons said: “I am really excited to re-sign. This is my hometown club, the club I grew up watching.”
“It has been nice to put a string of games together and represent the club, which I haven’t been able to for a little while.
“It’s exciting. What we have ahead is exciting and exciting to be able to do it with people who are friends off the field as well as on it. I think there’s a good future here at Leicester Tigers.”
