Tigers and Mattioli Woods city centre neighbours

Leicester Tigers club partner Mattioli Woods have officially opened their new multi-million pound city centre headquarters just around the corner from Welford Road stadium. 

Tigers press team were given exclusive access to the new offices which houses around 400 employees at the wealth management firm. 

The company also hosted a family fun-day which was attended by around 300 staff, family and friends of the firm. 

The five-storey purpose-built £15 million facility includes a sky lounge and bar, prayer room, designated quiet working areas, brew hubs and spacious open-plan layout.

The firm, which has moved from its Grove Park location in Enderby, looks after £8.7 billion of assets on behalf of 65,000 clients and has been an official partner of Leicester Tigers since 2016.

The Mattioli Woods Stand at Welford Road holds 3,300 seats as well as 25 executive boxes and the Tryline Club and XV Club suites. 

The company, which have 11 offices across the UK, also feature on the back of the club’s home and alternate jerseys.

Ian Mattioli MBE, chief executive officer and co-founder at Mattioli Woods, told guests at the unveiling: “We’ve come a long way since we started the business in a garage back in 1991. Our clients remain at the absolute core of everything we do and our headquarters retain our ‘shared IP’ that have made the company successful over the years.”

“Working in the city centre makes it easier for people to get to and become part of the continued transformation of Leicester city centre.”

The new office block has been created on the site of the former headquarters of Leicester City Council, which was demolished in 2015. 

Leicester city major Sir Peter Soulsby was also in attendance, stating: “We are delighted Mattioli Woods have come back into the city centre and is a great example to show we are a city that offers real quality space for people to move into.

“Mattioli Woods is a success story. It is a deserved success story. And it is a Leicester success story”

Guests were also invited to enjoy a hospitality matchday experience at Leicester Tigers Round 2 Heineken Champions Cup fixture against Scarlets at Welford Road, which saw Tigers win 45-27.
