Leicester Tigers have today unveiled a 2020/21 change kit designed to celebrate rugby’s inclusivity and the diversity of the local community.
Alongside the launch of a new home kit in traditional colours, Tigers exclusively revealed the alternative kit manufactured by new supplier Samurai.
The predominantly blue shirt has been designed to reflect the vibrant colours and background of a diverse and inclusive city and to celebrate how rugby a game is for all.
The strip is completed by white shorts and ‘rainbow’ striped socks.
Also new for 2020/21 is the logo of incoming main partner Topps Tiles across the chest.
The shirt will also continue to carry the logo of club partners STIHL, Breedon and Mattioli Woods, with TDT Technology on the reverse of the shorts.
In common with the new home kit, the inside of the collar carries the Tigers values of Club First – Tough – Passionate – Driven.
Club chief executive Andrea Pinchen said: “At Tigers we feel that, now more than ever, it is important for rugby to show that it is a game for everyone and also a sport rooted in our local communities.
“The club spends a lot of time going out to the community to share rugby’s values and provide programmes which allow young people to experience the sport – including those who would not have opportunities otherwise – for the first time.
“We appreciate that as a club we can only be as strong as our community and we want to reflect the support we receive from all areas of that in the new change kit.”
The 2020/21 kit will be available for supporters to pre-order online from Monday, July 27 with delivery from the week beginning August 17. The Club Shop is scheduled to reopen before the end of August with social distancing measures in place.
Shirts will be available in junior (age 3-4 up to 13-14), women’s (UK 8-22) and men’s sizes (small-6XL). There will also be a collection of training and leisurewear. Look out for more details soon.
