Duffey made his first Guinness Premiership appearance since his summer move from Nottingham in Saturday’s 19-14 win at Welford Road.
The hooker says it was a huge boost to pack down with the likes of Louis Deacon, Ben Kay and Lewis Moody.
Duffey said: “Before the game I was thinking that Boris (Stankovich) and myself were the only uncapped players that started in the forwards. That was kind of awesome!
“I was quite relaxed during the week until the morning of the game but I got into my normal prep and it worked. I watched a bit of boxing and listened to a bit of music, had some good food and got into it.”
He added: “I am happy to have played and now I know what it’s like – it was awesome.”
Tigers return to Welford Road for the start of the Heineken Cup campaign on Sunday when Ospreys are the visitors.
