Welcome back to Welford Road

Welcome back Leicester Tigers to Welford Road this Saturday by snapping up your tickets for the visit of Worcester Warriors in the Guinness Premiership (3pm kick-off).

Tigers return to home soil for the first time in a month, with the redevelopment of new Caterpillar Stand providing a spectacular backdrop to the action as it takes shape behind the current stand.

Tigers have won nine out of 10 home games so far this season and, with just eight Guinness Premiership games remaining, need to build momentum as they chase a place in the top four and the end-of-season play-offs.

“We’ve had a good run of form at home and we need to maintain that and build on our performances away from home in the run-in to the end of the season,” said acting head coach Richard Cockerill.

“Everyone knows about the passion of the Welford Road crowd and the guys are all looking forward to running out there again on Saturday.”

Tigers’ last home game featured an eight-try win over Italian visitors Benetton Treviso, and the last Guinness Premiership fixture at Welford Road saw a last-gasp 24-22 win over old rivals Bath Rugby.

This season’s first encounter with Warriors, at Sixways back in September, brought a 19-17 win for Tigers, with scrum-half Julien Dupuy scoring his first try for the club and then kicking the conversion to clinch the four points.

Tickets for Saturday’s return (3pm kick-off) are available now. Contact the Tigers ticket office on 08701 28 34 30, book online or call in at Welford Road.
