Brooksby Melton College will hold its final Open Day this weekend for prospective higher and further education pupils to find out more about studying for a career in sport.
The college, which supports the Tigers academy and developing player programme, is opening its doors from 10.00am to 1.00pm for visitors to take part in a tour of the Brooksby campus and a series of practical sessions.
Ahead of the Open Day, LeicesterTigers.com caught up with Tigers rugby development coach Steven Baker, who works closely with the college.
We provide a minimum of eight hours coaching time with Leicester Tigers coaches within your timetabled week. This includes rugby training, strength and conditioning, injury support, analysis and nutritional support.
“You can also gain hands-on work experience that can lead to casual paid employment, ranging from refereeing at Tigers events through to coaching on our new Multi-Sport Camps.”
What will students learn from the open day?
"The open day is a great chance to find out how we operate through experiencing a 90 minute practical coaching session, as well as how we can facilitate your career goals as a player, coach, student and as a person.
“You’ll meet current students with the chance to ask questions and discover more about the campus.”
The course options are available to students who are heading into or are currently in Year 10, 11, 12 & 13 looking to study any of the below courses.
- Level 3 Sport Science
